With Alabama needing rain badly and the ‘weather gods’ not delivering, Alabama Governor Bob Riley is going directly to “The Big Guy” and issued a proclamation calling for a week of prayer for rain, beginning Saturday.

Riley, in issuing the proclamation said, “Throughout our history, Alabamians have turned in prayer to God to humbly ask for his blessings and to hold us steady during times of difficulty. This drought is without question a time of great difficulty.”

And by golly it worked!

Just not as Governor Bob expected or wanted, but none the less it worked.

Out west.

Where Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas are being washed away by rains that just won’t seem to stop and town after town is being evaculated, roads are washed out and the water just keeps coming and coming.

Maybe the folks struggling to keep their heads above water might want to ask the folks in Alabama to “stop with the praying”!!!
