Ruth Johnson, an 89-year-old who lived alone, was was presumed to have died in her house in Severna Park area of Anne Arundel County, Maryland.

Police were called to check on Johnson on October 1st in response to a call from concerned neighbors. Reportedly the police officer sent to investigate, discovered Johnson blue and not breathing on the floor of the bathroom of her home. Police called Johnson’s adult son and told him his mother was dead.

Since Johnson had provided for her body to be donated to science, a representative of the state board that accepts such donations was sent to the house and discovered that Johnson was in fact alive. She was taken to a hospital and eventually moved to hospice care.

Reportedly, Johnson died on Saturday.

Hopefully the folks in Anne Arundel County, Maryland made certain that Ruth Johnson was in fact dead this time, as their track record leaves a bit to be desired when it comes to Mrs. Johnson…
