From time to time during the workday I scan various news sources for goofy stories that catch my eye. I used to pass links to these stories along to friends, family and associates via e-mail. I eventually decided it would be simpler, easier and more fun to do it with a blog and as a result Today In the USA was born.

Unfortunately Today In the USA sometimes gets ignored for long periods of time while I am occupied with other things, you know – like things that make money, amuse or thrill the person doing them.

But I always eventually return here to simply get away from those “other things”, to add new stuff and to generally loaf to the best of my highly developed loafing skills.

If you are searching for serious news you are in the wrong place. You won’t find it here. There’s lots of sources for serious news, if you don’t mind risking being depressed from reading it.

Here you will find only goofy, absurd or otherwise weird news or in the very least, links to news reports that cause one to shake their head in disbelief.
